My new life as mom doesn't leave much time for photography, house projects and blogging.
However, this weekend, I finally had time to paint a wall in our newly renovated basement.

I used a natural paint called Kalklitir from Iceland. It's a chalk paint which gives the wall a raw structure.
A fantastic product; easy to use - and the result is just as I wanted.

The color I used is named 'Winter secco'.

Yesterday, I found - probably - the best waffle recipe ever. I made ca. 16 waffles; enough for dessert and for our freezer.
I served them with homemade ice cream and fresh strawberries.

  • 400 g wheat flour
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 8 cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 g of melted butter

Mix all the ingredients in above mentioned order and stir the mixture until it is smooth.
Pour ca. 3/4 cup into your waffle iron and bake for ca. 3 minutes.

Many thanks to the Cute Carbs blog for this great recipe. I strongly recommend you to visit this blog; lots of delicious recipes.

Paper Folding

It's incredible which 'sculptures' you can create from an old book.
By folding all pages the same way, you can make so many different shapes.

Colorful Weekend

Spring is here - and it really gives me the urge to colorful items, flowers and food.
My weekend was mint green, coral, red, yellow and pink.

Chocolate Muffins

I've finally found the best chocolate muffin recipe ever.
I've made the muffins twice this week and think I may be addicted...

Today's version is inspired by the falling snow outside.

Here's the recipe:

  • 200 g margarine
  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1½ cups of flour
  • 2 tsp cocoa

Melt the margarine and add the chocolate so that it also melts.

Beat the eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar.
Add the flour and baking powder - and finally the cocoa. Stir until the dough is smooth.

Spread the cake dough into 12 muffin tins and bake at 200° for approx. 15 minutes.

Sprinkle with icing sugar - so it looks like snow.

Cole & Son

I really like the graphic patterns, geometric forms and cool colors of the British company Cole & Son who is the manufacturer of these hand-painted wallpapers - with a long history back to 1875.

Many thanks to Cole & Son for letting me post these inspiring wallpaper pictures.
